Julián Pontón has experience in public management in innovation, international cooperation, and international relations. His main professional achievements throughout his career have been:

• Designing and implementing the Social and Business Group of the Defense Sector’s companies’ exportable supply international promotion strategy, and the Ministry of National Defense’s international relations and international cooperation strategies.
• Designing and implementing programs aimed at promoting business innovation management capabilities and encouraging technology transfer in Colombia, as Director of Technological Development and Innovation, in the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation – Colciencias.
• Advising the Water and Sewerage Company of Bogota in the diagnosis of the knowledge and innovation management process, and in the formulation of the research, development and innovation plan (R + D + i).

He has recently supported Virtus Global in projects related to opportunity analysis in the national defense and security markets, a study on financing alternatives for the development of defense capabilities, and the implementation of strategies for operational risks mitigation. Julián is a Professional in Government and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia, and has a master’s degree in Public Management from the University of Potsdam, Germany.
