He served as the Colombian Army Commander’s Strategic Advisor, Dean of Research in the Superior War School (Colombian Joint War College), Director for the Colombian Military Forces’ Joint Doctrine directorate, Combined Arms Task Force commander and founder, and many other command positions at the operational and tactical level. He was the National Army’s transformation director, and Military science Dean for the Colombian Military Academy. He is a Professor for the Master’s program in Strategy and Geopolitics in the Superior War School (Colombian Joint War College). His accomplishments demonstrate strategic effect, institutional transformation, leadership and academics.

MS of Strategic Studies from The United States Army War College in Carlisle PA, MA in National Defense and Security Strategy from the Superior War School (Joint Colombian War College), he is a Specialist in International Law Applicable to Armed Conflict, is a Military Sciences Professional from the Colombian Military Academy, and a Business Administrator, with studies in Public Personnel Management at the Austin Peay State University of Tennessee USA. He graduated in Command General and Staff from the Korean Army Command and Staff College in Daejeon Korea.
